Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going

Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.

I had my first experience of negativity the other day. On the weekend I had a wedding to go to and it was the first time I got into a dress since being in comp prep and wow did it look different!! The straps were loose the chest area was nowhere near as tight and my arms... well from this photo you can see that my arms are really starting to come out!!...
So I posted this photo on my face book page and got a lot of “likes” and nice comments from my friends who are supporting me on my journey... Then out of nowhere a random friend of a friend made a nasty comment saying my arms are too big and it looks YUK etc... This did play on my mind and brought my positive attitude down slightly I must admit, but then realising that this person does not even know me and is ignorant to what I am set out to achieve I quickly turned this negative into a positive and wrote this blog!.. HELL YEAH MY ARMS ARE BIG AND YUK!! AND THANK YOU FOR NOTICING!! WOOOHOOOO!!!
Have you ever been faced with trying to stay positive when others around you are negative? Negative people can be a challenge to be around, they will bring you down and drain your energy.
People will put down your efforts just because they are not happy with their own. Other times, it's just a clear case of jealousy. If not giving 100% in their own efforts, it's often an easier way to take a look at themselves when they can cut down someone else's progress along the way. Being a bodybuilder, whether male or female will have many challenges, from negativity of others to set backs in training. Don't let negative people stand in your way. Get as far away from them as you can and associate yourself with people who will lift you up and encourage you.
Learning to detach emotionally from a negative person can greatly benefit you and the other person. A negative person will fight you if you try to change them. If you have negative people in your life that are critically affecting your mental and physical health, you need to evaluate whether or not you want these people in your life. Some people are so chronically negative that you have no other choice but to remove them from your life.
